I recall 1980 visiting Shirley, Ferne and Kevin with my dad’s sister, Aunt Daisy, Uncle Albert, Beverly Ann and Shirley. My husband, our 2 year son and I were really no relation to Shirley and Ferne but they insisted we come for a visit with Daisy, Albert and the girls. They both made us so welcome. Shirley cooked us a delicious meal of lobster on toast. Ferne and Isaac were impressed with one another and had lots of laughs. A nice memory of two wonderful people. Praying your memories will help ease the pain of the death of your mom. You Were both good to your mom and did whatever you could for her. She was blessed to have you there for her.

I’d like to express my deepest condolences to Shirley’s family. I worked with Shirley at Fisherman’s Paradise many years ago and I will always remember her fondly. Shirley was kind, helpful and a lot of fun. Everyone loved her. She was a very special person.

Kevin and Lisa and family, thinking of you sending love and hugs during this very sad time. We truly miss both your Mom and Dad they were great neighbours. Always available to lend a helping hand and always kept an eye out for the kids when they were young. Shirley is definitely in a better place now that she is reunited with your Dad.

Kevin and Lisa -- I’m so very sorry to hear of Shirley’s passing. Aunt Shirley was one of the kindest and most caring people I’ve ever known. Shirley would often fuss over me like I was royalty. I’ll always remember her and Fern’s Boxing Day parties. They would stuff us like geese with their gourmet food, which I’m sure took weeks for them to prepare, and they would never settle for a “no, thank you”! Everyone felt welcome at their home, and to visit them always felt like a “homecoming.” This world is a sadder place without Shirley. I keep thinking about her coy smile and her savvy raised eyebrow look as if to say “are you kidding me right now?” She will be missed by so many. Lots of love to you both in this difficult time.

Dear Kevin and Lisa, It is with a sad heart that we learnt of the news of Aunt Shirley’s passing. I hope your pain will be relieved somewhat in time, knowing that her suffering is over. Aunt Shirley was such a special person. She was welcoming, loving, generous, so easy to be around and had a good sense of humour. I enjoyed spending time with her during our family reunions. Whenever we would drop by your parents house your mom and dad were always so happy to see us and our boys. Aunt Shirley was actually my first boss many years ago at the motel they managed. She taught me that I needed a strong work ethic that has stayed with me for life. This lesson has been especially helpful for me in my job as a nurse. I also had the pleasure of working and learning from her when I worked at the Fiserman’s Paradise in Shediac. Everyone loved her, the owners, the staff and the customers. I actually think I was given that job because I was Shirley’s niece! I will miss Shirley dearly but keep f
