Dieppe, N.B. – It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Agnes Elaine (Gordon) Gauvin at the age of 84 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital in Moncton, New Brunswick on August 27, 2023.
Born in Joggins, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Florence (Harrison) Gordon and was the youngest of eight children.
Agnes worked as a legal secretary, a florist, and at Sears for many years in both sales and customer service until her retirement.
She was a wonderful, kind, funny, patient, and thoughtful woman. She was family oriented, giving, and often put the needs of others before her own. She loved socializing, going to parties and dances and was an active member of the Dieppe Golden Age Club for many years.
She was a vibrant woman who loved gardening and had a house and yard full of plants and beautiful flowers. She enjoyed walking, Zumba, singing, dancing, travelling, and playing cards. She also loved summer and spent many memorable days with friends and family at the beach. Agnes was a member of St. John’s United Church in Moncton, New Brunswick.
She will be dearly missed by her husband of 63 years, Gilbert Gauvin, daughter Tara-Leigh Landry-Thebeau (Norm Thebeau), daughter Carla Gauvin (Andrew Cress), granddaughters Monika Landry and Sophie Frazier (Matt), grandson André Landry (Keyana) and great-grandchildren Edmund and Eleanor Frazier, brother Robert Gordon, sister Florence Cooper, brother Norville Gordon (Barbara), sister-in-law Myrna Gordon, goddaughter Melanie Steeves, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother James Gordon (Verna), sister Murielle Fairweather (Ralph), brother Harley Gordon (Catherine), sister-in-law Marilyn Gordon, brother-in-law Jack Cooper and brother Walter Gordon.
As requested by Agnes, there will be no visitation, funeral, or celebration of life.
A sincere thank you to Pamela Gautreau for her help and kindness, the paramedics, doctors, nurses, and staff of the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital Emergency Department for their care and compassion.

A sad shock. Definitely often saw her walking by our house on Gauvin Road. Condolences to the whole family, but especially my friend Carla (her youngest daughter). I know from when my Dad passed that it probably feels surreal right now and I can’t say the pain ever goes away, but it does getting less overwhelming. Will be praying that God sends angels to wrap each of you in comfort and strength. Oh and my Mom Shirley sends her condolences also.
Our condolences to your family , we will miss all the fond memories of our camping trips , the beach and most of all Agnes’s beautiful infectious laughter. You will truly be missed.

I was sorry to hear of Aunt Agnes’s passing. My condolences to Uncle Gil and cousins Tara-Leigh and Carla. While I never met Agnes in person I had a wonderful call with her following the passing of my father and her brother Harley in 2022. The call lasted over an hour and by the time I hung up I could tell what a wonderful person she was. I always appreciated her effort in staying in touch with dad.
My sincere condolences to the Gauvin and Gordon family! I’m still in shock after hearing the passing of my dear friend Agnes. I will miss the good laughs, walks, and celebrating the holidays together. Thank you for caring for me and my family you were so very special to us. My heart is shattered into millions pieces. 😢

Many pleasant memories of taking dance classes with Agnes and Gilbert throughout the years. Add the many dances and the occasional chance fishing encounters at Cape Tormentine to those smile memories. Thank you for being a part of our life, you have enriched those moments shared and the memories that go with them. The paths are destined to cross again!
