Alain Bourget, 55, of Dieppe, passed away on Monday, February 8th 2010, at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital.
Born in Cap d’Espoir, QC, he was the son of Yolande (née: Cloutier) and the late Léo Bourget.
Mr. Bourget was a 1979 graduate of Université de Moncton with a bachelor of physical education and obtained his master’s in education in 1988. He was employed by School District 1, having taught locally at Beauséjour, Anna Malenfant and L’Odyssé schools. He also taught evening classes at l’Université de Moncton. He was a soccer enthusiast having played with The Pumphouse Brewery and the Rovers. He enjoyed life, nature and had a passion for travel. He also found time to coach soccer and basketball and was involved with the Jeux d’Acadie and the student travel exchange program.
Besides his mother Yolande of (Anse à Beaufils) Percé, QC, he is survived by his wife of 26 years, Denise (née: Bertin); his children: Julie, Stéphanie and Simon, all three attending Université de Moncton; six sisters: Manon of Boisbriand, QC, Joëlle (Thierry Haroun), Hélène (Michel Langlois) and Suzanne (Richard Cain),all three of Percé, QC, Marjolaine of Grande Rivière, QC and Hélène Cloutier (Pascal Robitaille) of Québec, QC; five brothers: Réal (Suzie LaPierre) of Québec, QC, Jean-Paul (Louise Lefebvre) of Gaspé, QC, Serge, Stéphane (Line Trudel), both of Percé, QC and Sébastien (Lynda Bilodeau) of Saint-Damien, QC as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB, (857-1901), on Friday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm.
Funeral mass will be celebrated from Saint-Anselme Roman Catholic Church, Dieppe, NB on Saturday, February 13th 2010, at 10 am.
Donations to the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital Foundation “Tree of Hope” or École Odysée “Alain Bourget Bursary Fund” would be appreciated by the family.

Né à Cap d’Espoir, Qc, il était fils de Yolande (née: Cloutier) et de feu Léo Bourget.
M. Bourget a obtenu, en 1979, un baccalauréat en éducation physique et, en 1988, une maîtrise en éducation. Employé du District scolaire no. 1, il a été enseignant aux écoles Beauséjour, Anna-Malenfant et l’Odysée. Il enseignait aussi des cours du soir à l’Université de Moncton. Passionné de soccer, il faisait partie des équipes Pump House Brewery et Rovers, tout en trouvant également le temps d’être entraîneur pour des équipes de soccer et de basketball. Il aimait voyager et le plein air. De plus, il s’impliquait dans des voyages échanges, et autrefois, dans les Jeux de l’Acadie.
Outre sa mère, Yolande de l’Anse à Beaufils, Percé, Qc, il laisse dans le deuil son épouse depuis 26 ans, Denise (née: Bertin); ses enfants: Julie, Stéphanie et Simon, tous trois étudiants à l’Université de Moncton; six soeurs: Manon de Boisbriand, Qc, Joëlle (Thierry Haroun), Hélène (Michel Langlois) et Suzanne (Richard Cain), tous de Percé, Qc, Marjolaine de Grande Rivière, Qc et Hélène Cloutier (Pascal Robitaille) de Québec, Qc; cinq frères: Réal (Suzie LaPierre) de Québec, Qc, Jean-Paul (Louise Lefebvre) de Gaspé, Qc, Serge et Stéphane (Line Trudel), tous deux de Percé, Qc et Sébastien (Lynda Bilodeau) de Saint-Damien, Qc ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces.
Les visites auront lieu à la Maison funéraire Chartersville, 363 rue Amirault, Dieppe, N.-B., (857-1901) le vendredi de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h.
Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Saint-Anselme, Dieppe, N.-B., le samedi 13 février 2010, à 10h.
Un don à la fondation Hôpital Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont “Arbre de l’espoir” ou au Fonds de bourse Alain Bourget de l’école l’Odysée serait appecié par la famille.
La famille désire remercier le personnel de l’Hôpital régional Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont, particulièrement l’Unité 4D et les soins intensif chirurgicaux.
