Albina Leger

Albina Leger, 87, of Dieppe, NB, with her loving family by her side, passed away on Saturday, February 16th, 2008 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital. Born in Scoudouc, NB, she was the daughter of the late Alyre and the late Agnes (née: Babin) Melanson.

The joy of her life was her family, Albina and Gerard spent their retirement years at the summer cottage in Notre-Dame where she would enjoy nature. She was a member of the Club d’Age d’Or de Dieppe and a parishioner of Ste-Thérèse Roman Catholic Church.

She is survived by two daughters: Charline (David) Surette of Burlington, ON and Suzanne Boudreau (Royden) of Moncton; three sons: Alonzo (Alicia) of Riverview, Michel of Notre-Dame and Gilles of Dieppe; one daughter-in-law, Viola Bell; one brother, Antoine Melanson of Moncton; 8 grandchildren: Joline, Mireille, Julie, Daniel, Marc, Angela, Scott and Lisa; 4 great grandchildren: Maya, Alexandre, Breanna and Nathan as well as several nieces and nephews.
Beside her parents, she was predeceased by her step-mother, Melina; her husband, Gerard in 1999, one sister, Lorette and also by three brothers: Alphonse, Edgar and Clement.

Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, 857-1901, on Monday, February 18th, 2008 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and on Tuesday from 10 am until time of service. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Ste-Thérèse Roman Catholic Church, on Tuesday, February 19th, 2008 at 11 am. Interment in Notre-Dame du Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe, NB. Donations to the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

The family wishes to thank the Staff of the Dr. G.-L. Dumont Hospital “Dialysis Unit” and the Staff of Residence Bellevue for the excellent care given to their mother.
