Alcide Melanson, 80, of Villa Providence, Shediac, and formerly of Bouctouche, passed away peacefully on Saturday January 28, 2017. He was married to the late Viola Collette. Born in Notre-Dame, he was the son of the late Fidèle and the late Yvonne (LeBlanc) Melanson.
He will be sadly missed by his three step-daughters; Murielle Pophem (Gary), Bernice Prett of Gardner,Mass, Edith Nelo of Leominster, two step-sons, Vincent LeBlanc (Bonnie) of Gardner, Mass and Rejean LeBlanc of Leominster, Mass, and several step-grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn two sisters; Claudette LeBlanc (Donald) of Saint-Antoine, Berthe Melanson of Bouctouche, one brother, Zéphir of Saint-Antoine and three step-brothers; Paul (Bernice), Vincent and Roger all of Saint-Damien,his special friends; Wilbert Power and Jeannette Daigle of Bouctouche,as well as several nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by two sisters; Viola and Jeannine and one brother Raoul.
In keeping with Alcide’s wishes, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Saint-Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church, Bouctouche, on Friday February 3, 2017, at 4:00 pm.
In memory of Alcide, donations may be made to the CHU DUMONT Foundation.
