Born in Amherst, NS, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and the late Edith Mitchell (nee Farrow).

Alfreda is survived by her two sons, Donny (Amethyst) and Shawn all of Moncton; by her three sisters, Brenda Mitchell, Linda Berthe (Mike) and Donna King (Fred) all of Moncton; by her five brothers, Larry (Alma), Mike (Sandra), Byron, Ross (Traci) and David all of Moncton; by her three grandsons, Tyler, Caleb and Liam; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Daniel (September 6th, 2016), by her two brothers, Raymond and Gerald "Jake" and by a nephew, James.

A time of fellowship will be held at Passage Funeral Chapel, 625 Mountain Road (Corner West Lane), Moncton on Thursday, April 6th, 2017 from 2:00pm – 4:00pm.
