Shediac, NB – Alonzo Richard, 77, passed away peacefully at the Villa Providence in Shediac, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, June 3, 2014, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Grande-Digue, NB, on August 10, 1936, he was the son of the late Roméo and Alice (Downing) Richard.
Alonzo will be sadly missed by his wife of 55 years, Irène (nee Caissie); his son, Sylvio (Lisa) of Grande-Digue; his daughter, Odette Girouard (Jean-Marie) of Fredericton; five brothers, Normand (late Edmire), Bernard, both of Grande-Digue, Léon (Judy), Claude, both of Florida, and Maurice (Caroline) of Moncton; four sisters, Thérèse Gregson (late Bill) of BC, Elizabeth Richard (Sylvestre) of Moncton, Violette Love (Wayne) of Ontario, and Bernadette Richard-Crase (Dave) of Riverview; four grandchildren, Ghislain, Jean-Luc, Gaëtan and Yves; one great grandson, Xavier; also several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Claudette and Mona.
Visitations will be at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Friday, June 6, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held at La Visitation RC Church in Grande-Digue on Saturday, June 7 at 12 pm. No visitation on Saturday morning.
Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society, Villa Providence or to the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
