Alphonse Babineau, 81, of Moncton, passed away on Tuesday, August 7th, 2007 at his residence.
Born in Shediac Bridge, NB, he was the son of the late Alphonse and the late Elise (née: Petitpas) Babineau.
Prior to retirement, he was a trucker driver for Petro Canada. He was a member of the Legion Branch # 6 and a parishioner of St.-Louis-de-France R.C.C.
He is survived by his wife, Ozithe (née: LeBlanc); two daughters: Jeannette (Fernand) LeBlanc of Dieppe and Bernice Babineau of Moncton; nine sons: Normand (Carolyn) of Middlesex, Paul (Donna) of Riverview, Jean-Guy (Lorainne) of Boundry Creek, Francis (Dolores), Rodrigue (Thelma), Alcide (Marilyn), Ivan (Tracy), Michel (Brenda) and Oscar (Marilyn), all six of Moncton; three sisters: Ernestine Goulet of Idaho, USA, Loretta Allain of Moncton and Ida Cormier of Notre-Dame; three brothers: Aquilla (Annie), Alfred (Viola) and Roger (Anne), all three of Shediac Bridge; 20 grandchildren: Jeremy, Matthew, Mark, Michel, Nicole, Suzanne, Lisa, Daniel, Elizabeth, Isabelle, Sarah, Eric, Shaylen, Monica, Christine, Justin, Christian, Emely, Brandon and Luc; seven great granchildren: Zachery, Brianna, Mitchell, Evan, Jaden, Sophie and Jacob as well as by several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two sons: Joseph and Maurice; four sisters: Leota, Claudette, Yvette and Diana and also by four brothers: Gerard, Alban, Amedée and Raymond.
Visitation will be held from Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB 857-1901, on Wednesday, August 8th, 2007, from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm and also on Thursday from 9: 30 am until time of departure.
Funeral mass will be celebrated from St-Louis-de-France Roman Catholic Church, on Thursday, August 9th, 2007, at 10: 30 am. Interment in Notre-Dame du Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe, NB.
Donations to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital ”Oncology Unit” would be appreciated by the family.
