 Alphonsine Babineau
1921 ~ 2019
Grande-Digue, NB – It is with great sadness, but also with great recognition for her love, that we announce the passing of our mother, Alphonsine Babineau, who passed away on April 1, 2019 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton, at the age of 98. Wife of the late Léonard Babineau, she was born in Grande-Digue, daughter of the late Philippe Gallant and the late Yvonne Poirier. She was living at "Le P’tit Chez Nous" nursing home in Grande-Digue.

She leaves a legacy of love to her four children, Charles Babineau (Vivian McEniry) of Dieppe, Denise Gallant (Maurice), Louis Babineau and Lucille Gallant (Bernard) all of Grande-Digue; her daughter-in-law, Gisèle St-Pierre of St-Jacques; her nine grandchildren, Isabelle, Tina, Sylvie, Jean-Pierre, Olivier, Joël, Gabrielle, Magalie and Brigitte; her eight great-grandchildren, Zoé, Clara, Astrid, Léa, Odessa, Théo, Zachary and Lucas; her two sisters, Évéline (late Roger Maillet) of Moncton and Marguerite (Alphé Leménager) of Lynn, Mass.; her two brothers, Louis (Claudette LeBlanc) of Shediac and Émile (Marie Babin) of Burlington, ON; her sister-in-law, Juliette of Chandler, QC; as well as several cousins, nephews and nieces.

She joined ‘up high’ (her way to call it heaven) her husband, Léonard; her son, Maurice; her sister, Lucie; her three brothers, Jacques, Raphaël and Raymond; as well as her great friend, Éloïse.

Visitations will be held at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Thursday, April 4, 2019 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. Note that there will be no visitation Friday morning. The funeral service will be held at the La Visitation RC Church in Grande-Digue, Friday, April 5, 2019 at 11am.

In memory of Alphonsine, donations to the Joël Gallant Funds, the Louis J. Robichaud Foundation or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

We wish to thank the staff of the palliative care at the hospital as well as the staff of the "Le P’tit Chez Nous" nursing home for all the good care provided to our mother.
