In Loving Memory Of
Alvida Poirier
1958 - 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alvida Poirier, 65, of MacDougall Settlement, NB, on Saturday, October 21^st, 2023, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center, Moncton, NB.

Born in St-André-LeBlanc, NB, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Laura (Cormier) Goguen.

Alvida had a big heart; she would have given her last penny to help anyone in need. She always had a big smile on her face and loved to spend time with her kids and grandkids. She also enjoyed being outdoors admiring the beauty of nature including the ocean, the birds and her flower beds. Prior to her retirement in May 2023, she worked with Imperial Sheet Metal.

She is survived by her children: Benjamin and Huguette, both of Moncton and Benoit (Véronique) of MacDougall Settlement; her grandchildren: Benjamin Jr., Dimitrius, Rosalie, Benson, Lilianne, Bentley and Benoit Jr.; her siblings: Dave Goguen, Hélène Niles (Maurice), Marie Goguen, Annie Woodcox (Tim), Joe Goguen, Normand Goguen and Lea Vautour; her sister-in-law, Denise Goguen (late Edward); the extended Poirier family and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her 1^st husband, Benoit Poirier; by her common-law spouse, Roger Daigle and by her brothers: Edward and Trevor.

Visitation will be held from Passage, 3754 Route 134, Shediac Bridge, NB, (506) 532-1050, on Friday, October 27^th, 2023 from 7 to 9 pm and also on Saturday, October 28^th, 2023, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.

Funeral mass will be held from La Visitation RC Church, Grande-Digue, NB, on Saturday, October 28^th, 2023 at 11 am.

In Alvida’s memory, a donation can be made to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
