Shediac, NB – Anita Burke, 89, passed away peacefully at the Villa Providence in Shediac, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, December 17, 2018.
Born in Petit Cap, NB, she was the daughter of the late Abel and the late Christine Bourque (nee LeBlanc).
Anita’s hobbies and pastimes included playing darts, cards (200) and making quilts. She also loved animals.
She will be sadly missed by her five children, Donald (Léonette), Camilla (Francis) and Normand (Charline) all from Cap-Pelé, Judy (Henri) from Quispamsis and Sylvia (Guilmond) from Bas Cap-Pelé; two sisters, Cécile (Yvon) of Grand-Barachois and Alma of Cap-Pelé; fourteen grandchildren, Sheila, Sharon, Keith, Ken, Krista, Kevin, Tanya, Penny, Bonnie, Jamie, Erika, Shane, Ryan and Scott; fifteen great grandchildren, Arielle, Amy, Brandon, Kim, Christine, Kris, Félix, Savannah, Afiyah, Amari, Yannick, Malik, Chloe, Jordyn and Ellie; and one great great grandchild, Trice.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ralston “Babe” (they were married for 62 years); also by her siblings, Marceline, Corinne, Yvonne, Laurina and Hervé.
Visitations will be held at the Golden Age Club in Shemogue on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Thursday, December 20, 2018 from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm. Funeral service will be held at the St-Thimothée RC Church in Shemogue on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 2:00 pm.
Sincere thanks to the wonderful nurses and the staff of the Villa Providence that took great care of our Mom since she’s been there, but especially when she was in palliative care …..you guys are all angels on earth ….. love you all…!
