After a courageous battle with cancer, Anna Emilie Malenfant-Michaud passed away at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital on April 23, 2010. She was born in Dieppe on July 15th, 1934 to the late Ferdinand and Annie (Downing) Malenfant. Anna is survived by her husband, Neil Michaud, and her three sons, Patrick (Camilla) Flannery and Mark Flannery, both of Moncton, and Edward (Anne-Marie) Flannery of Grande-Digue; her five grandchildren: Aron (Nicole), Ryan (Sandi), Neil, Adele (Patrick), and Erik Flannery, and one great grandchild: Austin Rusnak. She will be sadly missed by her two sisters, Geneva (late Carl) Fleck of Riverview and Jeannette (Clément) Roy of Dieppe, and her brothers William (Bill) (late Frances) and Paul Malenfant, both of Dieppe. She was predeceased by her first husband, Claude Flannery, brothers Joseph, George, Edgar, Gerald, Ferdinand, John, Charles, and Louis.
She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. Anna has devoted herself to God and the Catholic Church. She loved to share her gift of music with her local community. In her early years she participated with several local choirs. Her beautiful voice helped her win the title of Miss Moncton in 1952. She operated her own beauty shop in Dieppe. She loved to laugh and play any kind of board or card game. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Georges-L. Dumont Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
She is resting at the Chartersville Funeral Home at 363 Amirault Street in Dieppe. Visitations will be held on Sunday, April 25 between 2 and 4 and between 7 and 9, also on Monday, April 26 from 2 until the departure for the funeral, which will be celebrated at the Sainte-Thérèse Church in Dieppe at 3 pm. Internment will be in the Cap-Pelé cemetery.

Elle était la fille de feu Ferdinand et Annie (Downing) Malenfant. Elle est survécue par son mari, Neil Michaud et ses trois fils : Patrick (Camilla)Flannery et Mark Flannery de Moncton, ainsi que Edward (Anne-Marie)Flannery de Grande-Digue, ainsi que ses cinq petits-enfants : Aron (Nicole), Ryan (Sandi), Neil, Adèle (Patrick) et Erik Flannery et son arrière petit-fils, Austin Rusnak.. Elle manquera aussi à ses deux sœurs, Geneva (feu Carl) Fleck de Riverview et Jeannette (Clément) Roy de Dieppe ainsi qu’à ses deux frères, William(Bill) (feu Frances) et Paul Malenfant de Dieppe. Elle fut prédécédée de son premier mari, Claude Flannery, ainsi qu’à ses frères Joseph, George, Edgar, Gerald, Ferdinand, John, Charles et Louis. Elle était une mère et grand-mère bien-aimée. Elle était dévouée à Dieu et à l’Église catholique. Elle aimait partager son don de musique et avait participé dans plusieurs chorales. Sa belle voix lui a permis de gagner le titre de Mlle Moncton en 1952. Elle aimait rire et jouer aux cartes. En témoignage de sympathies, la famille apprécierait des dons à la Fondation Georges-L. Dunmont. Elle repose au salon funéraire Chartersville au 363 rue Amirault à Dieppe. Les heures de visite seront le dimanche 25 avril entre 14H00 et 16H00 et entre 19H00 et 21H00, ainsi que lundi le 26 avril de 14H00 jusqu’au départ pour le service religieux, qui aura lieu à l’Église Sainte-Thérèse à Dieppe à partir de 15H00. L’enterrement sera au cimetière de Cap-Pelé, N.B.
