Aquila Maillet

Aquila Maillet, 92 of Manoir Saint-Jean Baptiste, Bouctouche and formerly of Saint-Edouard de Kent, has passed away following a brief illness at the Manoir Saint-Jean Baptiste, on Saturday January 30th, 2010. He was married to the late Cécilia (Nowlan) Maillet (2006). Born in Sainte-Anne de Kent on January 24th, 1918, he was the son of the late Sifroid and the late Délina (Gallant) Maillet.
Aquila was a commercial fisherman before his retirement and one of the founding member of the coopérative des pêcheurs. He was also a member of the Sainte-Anne de Kent Golden Age Club.
He will be sadly missed by his three sons, Jean-Guy (Lucianne) of Cap-Lumière, Charles of Campbellton, Laurie (Murielle) of Boudreau Ouest, three grandsons, Jacques, Gilles, Marcel, and four great grandchildren, Monica, Venessa, Justin, Sophia. He also leaves one brother Arice (Irène) of Saint-Edoaurd de Kent, and several nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by one daughter, Marie-Paul (1970), and three sister, Ella, Anna and Rita.
Visitation will be held at the Sainte-Anne de Kent Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, on Sunday January 31st, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and on Monday from 2 to 3:45 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at the Sainte-Anne de Kent Church on Monday February 1st, 2010 at 4:00 pm. Interment will be in the parish cemetery in the spring.
