Arthur Richard, 97, of Auberge du Soleil, Dieppe, passed away on Monday, October 31st, 2016, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center, Moncton.
Born in Cocagne on September 9th, 1919, he was the son of the late Pascal and the late Amanda (née: Goguen) Richard.
Prior to retirement, he was employed at the Moncton Hospital as a cook.
He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Eva (née: Goguen); his four children: Florine Cormier of Dieppe, Camille (Frannie) of Lynnfield, Mass, Norman (Paulette) of Dieppe and Rita (Ronald) LeBlanc of Dieppe; six grandchildren: Leo-Paul (Susan), Michelle (David), Denis (Lisa), Pierre (Janice), Julie (Caleb) and Carole; ten great grandchildren: Bradley (Jessica), Jamie, Katherine (Léna), Nicholas, Jack, Arianne, Charlotte, Alexis, Colten and Amelia; one great great granddaughter, Adalynn; one sister, Ethel (late Robert) of Shediac; sisters-in-law: Geraldine Richard, Cecile Richard and Elizabeth Richard as well as several nieces and nephews.
Arthur was predeceased by sisters: Eva, Léa, Florence, Doris and also by brothers: Henri, Lionel, Leandre, Adelard and Laurie.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe (857-1901) on Wednesday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and also on Thursday from 9:30 am until time of service.
A celebration of the word will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home Chapel, on Thursday, November 3rd, 2016 at 11 am.
Interment in Saint-Pierre Parish Cemetery, Cocagne.

Né à Cocagne, le 9 septembre 1919, il était le fils de feu Pascal et de feu Amanda (née Goguen) Richard.
Avant sa retraite, Arthur travaillait comme cuisinier à l’hôpital de Moncton.
Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse de 74 ans, Eva (née Goguen); ses quatres enfants: Florine Cormier de Dieppe, Camille (Frannie) de Lynnfield, Mass, Norman (Paulette) de Dieppe et Rita (Ronald) LeBlanc de Dieppe; six petits-enfants: Leo-Paul (Susan), Michelle (David), Denis (Lisa), Pierre (Janice), Julie (Caleb) et Carole; dix arrière petits-enfants: Bradley (Jessica), Jamie, Katherine (Léna), Nicholas, Jack, Arianne, Charlotte, Alexis, Colten et Amelia; une arrière arrière petite-fille, Adalynn; une sœur, Ethel (feu Robert) de Shediac; belle-sœurs: Geraldine Richard, Cecile Richard et Elizabeth Richard ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces.
Ses soeurs: Eva, Léa, Florence, Doris ainsi que ses frères: Henri, Lionel, Leandre, Adelard et Laurie l’ont précédé dans la tombe.
Les visites auront lieu à la Maison funéraire Chartersville, 363 rue Amirault, Dieppe, (857-1901), le mercredi de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h ainsi que le jeudi de 9h30 jusqu’à l’heure des funérailles.
Une célébration de la parole aura lieu en la chapelle de la Maison funéraire Chartersville, Dieppe, le jeudi 3 novembre 2016 à 11h.
L’inhumation se fera au cimetière paroissial Saint-Pierre à Cocagne.
Un don à la Fondation CHU Dumont serait apprécié par la famille.
