Saint-Antoine, NB – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Auguste Thébeau, 81, on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at the Foyer Saint Antoine in Saint Antoine, NB. Born in Acadieville, he was the son of the late Edouard Thébeau and Alminnie Barrieau, who passed away when he was very young. Auguste was raised by his father, who later remarried Dorina Daigle, who provided love and support throughout his life.
Auguste was a skilled welder who was known for his craftsmanship and his ability to bring a unique touch to every project. His hands, weathered by years of labor, were also always ready to help. His generosity and willingness to help others reflected his character – strong and reliable.
An avid hunter and fisherman, Auguste found joy in the outdoors where he spent countless hours. He also had a deep appreciation for music, and in his later years, he took up the violin, surprising many with his dedication and talent. Above all, Auguste was a loving grandfather who adored his granddaughter, Céline. His eyes would light up with pride and joy whenever he spent time or spoke of her.
Auguste will be sadly missed by his daughter Lise (Charles) Despres of Cocagne, his son Marc (Danielle) Thébeau of Saint-Antoine and his granddauther Céline Despres.
He also leaves to mourn his siblings: Raymond Thébeau (Beverly) of Chipman, Alminnie Bourque of Ontario, Rita Finlayson (Jimmy) of Riverview, Léon Thébeau (Brenda Wright) of Memramcook, Eva Cormier (Raymond) of Moncton, Thérèse Quimper (Daniel) of Riverview, Euclide Thébeau (Linda) of Saint-Paul, Pauline Thébeau of Moncton, Vincent Thébeau (Tony Carrau) of Puerto Rico and the mother of his children Jeannine Thébeau of Shediac; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Julienne Arsenault and Alminnie Thébeau (infant).
On behalf of the family, we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff at Foyer Saint-Antoine for the exceptional care, kindness, and support you’ve provided to our father. We will forever be appreciative and grateful.
Visitation will be held at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 2 to 4 p.m. only. In respect of Auguste’s wishes, there will only be one gathering.
A donation to the Foyer Saint-Antoine (Activities) would be greatly appreciated by the family.

To the family of Auguste Thebeau, my sincere condolences on the loss of your precious brother, Auguste. As children living on the New England Rd., we all played together and had so many special happy times. Though we may have lost touch over the years, I will forever cherish these fond memories in my heart.
I fully intended to be at The Celebration of Life, but when the snow came, I didn’t feel comfortable driving, so I apologize. You’re in my thoughts and prayers. Catherine (Thebeau) Richard.
