Moncton, NB – Auréa (Blanche) Maillet, passed away peacefully at her cottage in Côte Sainte-Anne-de-Kent, on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at the age of 86.
Born in McLean Settlement, NB, she was the daughter of the late Zoël and the late Marie Girouard.
Auréa will be greatly missed by her beloved husband of 61 years, Aurèle (Al) Maillet; her daughter, Jocelyn (Maurice) Hébert of Moncton; her son, Marc (Debbie) Maillet of Eastern Passage, NS; her brother, Laurie Girouard of St. Lazare; her sister, Annette Girouard of Sainte-Anne-de-Kent; her two grandchildren: Dani (Adrian) Lechner of Germany, and Serge Hébert (Mélanie) of Moncton; her five great-grandchildren: Benjamin, Philipp, Anthony, Victoria and Charlotte; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Lorraine Girouard.
Auréa was proud to have worked with Shell Oil Company for 42 years before her retirement.
Visitation will take place at Passage Funeral Chapel (625 Mountain Road, Moncton) on Tuesday, August 16th, 2022 from 10:00am until noon. Funeral service will take place in the chapel at 1:30pm. Visitation will resume from 2:00pm until 3:30pm.
In memory of Auréa, a donation can be made to the Canadian Alzheimer Society or to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Heaven became a better place when God decided to call her home, she will be missed dearly by anyone that knew her…some of us were extremely lucky to call her Aunt Aurea! My sincere condolences to Uncle Al and the whole Maillet and Girouard families!

Doug and I have very fond memories of Aurea. Doug spent many good years working with her at Shell Canada. We sure enjoyed her hospitality when she and Al hosted the annual Shell lobster party. Our condolences to Al and family.

Condolences to Al, Laurie, Jocelyn and Marc. I remember Cousin Aurea as a kind, smart and elegant woman. I worked for her and her family the summer I was 16 babysitting their two children. She was always lovely to me.
