Aurèle Gaudet passed away peacefully at home after a courageous battle with ALS on January 7, 2013, at the age of 81.
Born in St-Joseph, NB, on February 21, 1931, he was the son of the late Léandre Gaudet and of the late Marie Breau. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife Marie (Cormier), his two daughters Denise Pollitt (late Albert) and Marise (Charles) Cormier both of Dieppe, and his two sons Conrad (Beverly) and Roland (Kathleen) both of Fredericton and his 6 grandchildren, Julie, Christine, Katherine, Patrick, Monica and Tanya; his sister, Edmée Belliveau of Dieppe, his 3 brothers, Lucien (late Marie), Léopold (Yvonne), both of St-Joseph, and Louis-Philippe (Charlotte) of Dieppe. Aurèle was predeceased by his parents, four sisters Léona, Géraldine, Lorraine and Zita; five brothers Éric, Émile, Albert, Yvon and Joseph Camille.
He was an agrologist for the province of NB until his retirement in 1991. Wanting to make his community a better place, he was always involved in numerous associations and activities, most recently Knights of Columbus and the Golden Age Club. He loved to bowl, play golf and cards. He was a devoted husband, loving father and doting grand-father. Aurèle was a gentle, caring man, who will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
The family would like to thank Dr. Victor Robichaud, Dr. Mathieu Gaudet as well as the staff of the Extra-Mural program for their excellent and compassionate care.
Resting at Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault St, Dieppe, NB with visitations Thursday, January 10th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday January 11th from 9 to 10:15 a.m. The funeral service will be held Friday January 11th at 11 a.m. at the St Anselme Church.

Né à Saint-Joseph, le 21 février 1931, il était fils de feu Léandre Gaudet et de feu Marie Breau.
Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse, Marie; ses deux filles: Denise Pollitt (feu Albert) et Marise (Charles) Cormier, toutes deux de Dieppe; ses deux fils: Conrad (Beverly) et Roland (Kathleen), tous deux de Fredericton; six petits-enfants: Julie, Christine, Katherine, Patrick, Monica et Tanya; une sœur, Edmée Belliveau de Dieppe; trois frères: Lucien (feu Marie), Léopold (Yvonne), tous deux de St. Joseph et Louis-Philippe (Charlotte) de Saint-Anselme ainsi qu’une belle sœur, Shirley Gaudet de Shediac.
Quatre sœurs: Léona, Geraldine, Lorraine, Zita ainsi que cing frères: Eric, Emile, Albert, Yvon et Joseph Camille l’ont précédé dans la tombe.
Retiré de la fonction publiques en 1991, Aurèle fit du bénévole dans plusieurs associations, Exposition Ste-Marie, Club d’Age d’Or, Chevalier de Colomb, Fédération des aînés et j’en passe. Il était un grand sportif et adorait jouer aux golf, aux cartes et aux quilles. Aurèle était époux de grand cœur, un père devoué et un grand-père qui adorait ses petits. Il a profité de son temps avec sa famille.
La famille recevra parents et amis à la Maison funéraire Chartersville, 363 rue Amirault, Dieppe, N.-B., (857-1901) le jeudi de 14h à 16h et 19h à 21h et le vendredi de 9h à 10h 15.
Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Saint-Anselme, le vendredi 11 janvier 2013 à 11h.
L’inhumation se fera au cimetière paroissial Saint-Anselme, Dieppe, N.-B.
À la mémoire d’Aurèle, un don à la Société S.L.A. ou à la Croix Rouge serait apprécié par la famille.
