Aurèle Lirette

Moncton, NB – Aurèle Lirette, 88, passed away at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton, on Monday, June 15th, 2015.

Born in Moncton, NB, he was the son of the late Louis and the late Angéline Lirette (nee Arsenault). A veteran of the Second World War.  Aurèle worked for Weldbend in Chicago for over 45 year before returning to Canada, a member of the Golden Age Club in Moncton. He was avid Chicago Blackhawk fan. Aurèle was a regular at Champlain Mall every morning for coffee, he also enjoyed music.

Aurèle is survived by his common-law wife of eleven years, Adèle Breau of Moncton; by his two sons, Denis of Appleton, Wisconsin, USA, Maurice (Judy) of Keeneyville, Illinois, USA; by his brother, Henri (Cécile) of Moncton; by his sister, Sr. Thérèse Lirette, n.d.s.c. of Moncton; by his six grandchildren; by several great grandchildren; also by several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Aurèle was predeceased by his two brothers, Léo, Walter; by his six sisters, Yvonne Doyon (late Henri), Florence Lirette, Florida Dupuis (late Maurice), Jeanne Dupuis (late Édouard), Anita Hébert (late Bertin), Alice Gallant (late Victor).

Visitation will be held at Passage Funeral Chapel, 625 Mountain Road corner West Lane, Moncton on Thursday, June 18th, 2015 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. There will be no visitation at the funeral home Friday morning. A legion service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 3:50pm. Funeral Mass will be held at the Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, 300 Dominion Street, Moncton on Friday, June 19th, 2015 at 11:00am. Interment will take place at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery in Dieppe at a later date.
