Bernard Arsenault, 62, of Dieppe, NB, passed away on Friday, July 20h, 2012, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center.
Born in Moncton, NB, he was the son of the late Isidore and the late Marie-Anne (née: Richard) Arsenault.
Bernie was passionate about his career in the restaurant industry and enjoyed many years working alongside his brother Leonce at Centennial-Shakers, both as chef and co-owner. He also enjoyed numerous vacations with Claudiane, to the Grand Canyon, Hawaii and Florida, to name a few. The cottage and his boat “Captain Bernie” were a find backdrop for his storytelling and comedic style. There was also his love of golf and fishing with the boys on the Miramichi. The fish stories got bigger year after year.
He is survived by his wife, Claudiane (née: Plantain); two sisters: Ruth (late James) Anderson and Charline (Daniel) Collin; two brothers: Leonce (Azele) and Georges (Gloria), all of Moncton, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB (857-1901) on Sunday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and also on Monday from 9:30 am until time of departure.
Funeral mass will be celebrated from Saint-Anselme Roman Catholic Church, Dieppe, NB, on Monday, July 23rd, 2012 at 11 am.
Interment in Saint-Anselme Parish Cemetery, Dieppe, NB.
Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital Foundation “Oncology” would be appreciated by the family.

Au Centre hospitalier universitaire Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont de Moncton, le vendredi 20 juillet, 2012, à l’âge de 62 ans, est décédé Bernard Arsenault. Il demeurait à Dieppe, N.-B.
Né à Moncton, N.-B., il était fils de feu Isidore et de feu Marie-Anne (née: Richard) Arsenault.
Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse, Claudiane (née: Plantain); deux soeurs: Ruth (feu James) Anderson et Charline (Daniel) Collin; deux frères: Leonce (Azele) et Georges (Gloria), tous de Moncton, ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces.
Bernie était passionné par sa carrière dans le secteur de la restauration et il a apprécié pendant de nombreuses années son travail aux côtés de son frère Leonce, tous deux chefs et copropriétaires au “Centennial-Shakers”. Il a également apprécié ses nombreux voyages avec Claudiane, au Grand Canyon, à Hawaii et en Floride, pour n’en nommer que quelques-uns. Le chalet et son bateau “Captain Bernie” étaient des toiles de fond pour raconter ses histoires comiques. Il aimait le golf et la pêche avec les “boys” sur la Miramichi. Les histoires de pêche sont devenues plus grande années après années.
Les visites auront lieu à la Maison funéraire Chartersville, 363 rue Amirault, Dieppe, N.-B., (857-1901) le dimanche de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h et le lundi de 9h 30 jusqu’au départ pour les funérailles.
Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Saint-Anselme, Dieppe, N.-B., le lundi 23 juillet, 2012, à 11h.
L’inhumation se fera au cimetière paroissial Saint-Anselme, à Dieppe, N.-B.
Un don à la Société canadienne du cancer ou à la Fondation Hôpital Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont « Oncologie » serait apprécié par la famille.
