Born in Montreal, QC, he was the son of the late Hervé and the late Élise Richard (nee Duguay). Bernie was the Executive Director of The NB Senior’s Federation until his retirement in 1992. He was a long time member of the Rotary Club, Club Richelieu, Moncton Probus Club and Moncton Amateur Radio Club (VE1ZE).
Bernard will be sadly missed by his wife, Lauriel Richard of Moncton; by his daughter, Bernette Leblanc of Moncton; by his son, Pierre (Kimberly) of Kentville, NS; by his brother, Camille (Nicole) of Ottawa, ON; by his sister, Armelle Bridgeman (late Robert) of Red Deer, AB; by his five grandchildren, Caroline, Scott, Michel, Lucy and Alex; and by several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Bernard was predeceased by his children, Michel, Nicole, Pierre, and Gérard, by his sister, Thérèse Deschênes.
Visitation will be held at Passage Funeral Chapel, 625 Mountain Road (corner West Lane), Moncton on Friday, April 7th, 2017 from 2:00pm – 4:00pm and from 7:00pm – 9:00pm. There will be no visitation at the funeral home Saturday morning. Funeral Mass will held at Notre-Dame-de-Grâce RC Church, 854 Mountain Road, Moncton on Saturday, April 8th, 2017 at 11:00am.
Donations to Alzheimer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
