Saint-Maurice, NB – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bernard J. “Bernie” LeBlanc, 79, surrounded by his loving family at the Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital, in Sainte-Anne-de-Kent, NB.
He was the beloved husband of Bertha (Allain) LeBlanc with whom he shared 55 years of marriage and was a resident of Fitchburg, MA and moved back to Canada in 2002.
He was born in Sainte-Marie-de-Kent (Saint-Cyrille), New Brunswick on February 2nd, 1946 and was the son of the late Antoine LeBlanc and the late Alberta (Poirier) LeBlanc.
Bernard was raised and educated in Canada and moved to the United States in 1967. He worked as a laborer and was a member of the Fitchburg Rod and Gun Club, where he enjoyed fishing, playing cards, pool and golf.
In addition to his loving wife, Bernard leaves to morn his son Francis J. LeBlanc Sr. and his wife Tasha of Fitchburg, MA, his adopted son Francis LeBlanc Jr. of Ashby, MA and a grandson, Noah C. LeBlanc of Ashby, MA.
He will also be sadly missed by his siblings: Antoinette (Reggie) Mazerolle of Maynard, MA, Homer (Cathy) LeBlanc of Illinois, François LeBlanc Maynard, MA and Harvey (Rose Mary) LeBlanc of Moncton, NB. Also, two sisters-in-law: Alda (late Bertin) and Maria (late Raoul), as well as many nieces and nephews and many great grand nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is reunited in heaven with his brothers: Rodrique, Bertin, Raoul and Roméo and is wife Solange.
Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place at Passage Shediac Bridge, NB.
Visitation will be held on July 11, 2025, from 2pm to 3:45pm and a funeral mass will follow at 4pm at the Sainte-Anne Romain Catholic Church, 7611 route 134, Sainte-Anne-de-Kent NB E4S 1E5.
A lunch will be served after the mass at the Club d’Àge D’or in Bouctouche, NB.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Bernard’s memory to the New Brunswick Alzheimer Society.
