Haut-Saint-Antoine, NB – It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Bernard Thériault, 75 years young, who left us peacefully at the Georges L. Dumont hospital in Moncton on Sunday September 7th surrounded by family.
Born on June 3rd in Saint-Basile, he was the eldest son of the late René and Madeleine (Lavoie) Thériault.
Beloved husband of Francine Thériault of Haut-Saint-Antoine; loving father to Marie-Élaine (Barry) of Fredericton; Brigitte (Marc) of Whitby; Philippe (September) of Katy; Pierre (Corinne) of Long Reach; and Dianne (Gerry) of Haut-Saint-Antoine; dear brother to Mario, François, Bruno, and Sylvie Pelletier. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren: Camille, Louie (Candace), Nikolas, Alexandre, Vivienne, Léo, and his great-granddaughter Iris.
Bernard was predeceased by his sister, Huguette.
A jack-of-all-trades, Bernard was never afraid to take on a challenge. He had a unique way of doing things, but possessed a work ethic like no other. He was passionate about agriculture, raising animals, nature conservation, and woodworking. He was very proud of his farm in Haut-Saint-Antoine, a childhood dream that he was able to make reality for over 40 years. He loved mentoring younger farmers in the community, and he was always ready and willing to share his vast knowledge, his time and his hands to help others. But what he loved the most was his family, and he was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren.
A celebration of life for Bernard will be held on Sunday, September 14th from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Maillet Funeral Home, 29 Rue de L’Église, in Bouctouche (506-743-2207). Memories of Bernard will be shared at 4:00 pm.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Parkinson Canada would be appreciated.

C’est avec grande tristesse que nous apprenons le départ de Bernard.
En 1950, la vie prit corps et tout un accomplissement. Durant 75 années Bernard n’a rien épargné pour rendre les siens heureux.
Après 75 belles années son corps ne pouvant plus suivre la vie vient de quitter. Mais sa vie continue sous une différente dimension.
Là où il est, vous êtes avec lui. N’hésitez pas de lui demander son support.

Nous avons été choyés d`avoir connus Bernard comme un cher voisin à notre premiere maison à Haut-St-Antoine. Bernard nous a tellement aidé avec des projets que nous souhaitions établir autour de la maison. Ce n`était pas un homme qui arrètais trop… il travaillais très fort chaque jours. Nous sommes très tristes d`apprendre la nouvelle de son décès. C`est certain qu`il vas continuer la vie de fermier là-haut. On envois nos plus sincères sympathies à Francine et tout votre famille xox.
