Berthe Marie Thérèse Cormier (née Leblanc) was a beloved grandmother, mother, and wife during her incredible 94 years of life. She went home to be with Jesus the morning of Tuesday, December 30th, 2025.
Berthe was born to Camille and Leonie Leblanc, and was raised in Fox Creek, New Brunswick on August 13th, 1931. As a young adult, she worked at Assomption Insurance Company as an assistant accountant for ten years. During this time, she met her husband, Philippe Cormier. They were married in July 1957, and raised their daughter Paulette (Nelson) Doucette in the Moncton area. Shortly after the birth of her daughter, she became a full-time home-maker.
Shortly after the passing of Philippe in 2003, she moved to Moose Jaw, SK to live with her daughter and two grand-daughters, Amberly and Marie. She became their greatest cheerleader as they grew up and chased their personal passions.
Berthe was known as a kind, caring and thoughtful woman of strong faith and an incredible baker. Her family was very important to her. She shared her passion for Christ with her family and mentored her grand-daughters in the science of baking.
The family thanks the staff at Providence Place and Chateau St. Michael for the kind end-of-life care they provided.
Berthe returned to heaven with her husband Philippe Cormier, her parents Camille and Léonie Leblanc, her sisters Léoline (Norman) Gauvin and Norma (Gérard) Bourgeois, her brother-in-laws Norman Gauvin and Greg D’nelly and her sister-in-law Jacqueline (Eugène) Leblanc. She is survived by her daughter Paulette (Nelson) Doucette, her grand-daughters Amberly and Marie, her sister Dolorèse (Greg) D’nelly, her brother Eugène Leblanc, her brother-in-law Gérard Bourgeois. She leaves many nieces and nephews in mourning.
A private funeral will be held with the family in Moose Jaw at Church of our Lady on January 17th at 2pm. She will be laid to rest beside her husband Philippe at the Chartersville Cemetery in Dieppe, NB in August.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada in memory of Berthe.
