Following a lengthy illness, Bertin LeBlanc passed away peacefully Sunday, November 7th, 2021, at his home in Dieppe, surrounded by lots of love and warmth. Born in Campbellton NB, on the 17th of May 1951, he was the son of late Xavier LeBlanc and late Bérénice (née Michaud).
He will be tremendously missed by his wife, his one true love, Raymonde Boulay, along with his two daughters, his precious pearls, Amélie and Maryse. He leaves behind his sisters, Dianne and Micheline (Fernando) and his brother Denis (Marjolaine), his brothers and sisters in-law; Michel (Céleste), Gisèle (Pierre), François (Nicole) and Nathalie (Perry) as well as his nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
Bertin worked as a locomotive engineer for Canadian National Railway for 35 years. Throughout his life, his greatest passions were undoubtedly salmon fishing and woodworking. Whether it was casting a line on the water or standing in front of his wood lathe, he was always so happy! His creativity and many talents allowed him to envision and achieve wonderful projects, of which he was very proud. A big-heart man, loving, warm and always willing to lend a hand, Bertin was greatly loved and cherished by not only his family, but also by all who had the chance to know him. It was often said that he was a true gentleman. Fun-loving, playful, and often teasing those he loved most, he was always game for just about anything! As his great-niece Alexandra said: “He is in our hearts now…”
We would like to thank the health personnel from the cardiology department at the CHU Dumont Hospital. Your presence and loving care provided Bertin with the best quality of life possible for almost 11 years. We also wish to sincerely thank the Extra-Mural Program’s Blanche Bourgeois Unit for the excellent palliative care allowing him to stay him.
The Family will receive condolences at the Chartersville Funeral Home in Dieppe on Friday November 12th, 2021, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. At this time, there will be no service. At the request of the family, donations can be made to the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre’s Cardiology Department or to the Atlantic Salmon Federation.

Il manquera énormément à son épouse, son grand amour, Raymonde Boulay et ses deux filles, ses deux trésors, Amélie et Maryse. Il laisse dans le deuil ses sœurs Dianne et Micheline (Fernando) et son frère Denis (Marjolaine), ses beaux-frères et belles-sœurs; Michel (Céleste), Gisèle (Pierre), François (Nicole) et Nathalie (Perry) ainsi que ses nièces et neveux qu’il aimait beaucoup.
Bertin a fait carrière comme ingénieur de locomotive au Canadien National pendant 35 ans. Tout au long de sa vie ses grandes passions auront certes été la pêche au saumon et travailler le bois. Il était autant heureux à tirer une ligne à l’eau que d’être debout devant son tour à bois! Sa créativité et ses talents lui auront permis de concevoir et de réaliser de merveilleux projets dont il était très fier. Homme au grand cœur, aimable, chaleureux et toujours prêt à aider, Bertin a été grandement aimé et apprécié par non seulement sa famille et ses amis mais aussi par toutes les personnes qui ont eu la chance de le connaître. On a souvent dit de lui qu’il était un véritable gentleman. Bon vivant, enjoué et taquineur, il était toujours « game » pour à peu près n’importe quoi! Et comme le dit Alexandra, sa petite-nièce: “il est maintenant dans nos cœurs…”
Nous tenons à remercier le personnel de la santé du département de cardiologie du CHU Dumont votre présence et vos soins auront donné à Bertin la meilleure qualité de vie possible pendant près de 11 ans. Nous tenons également à remercier sincèrement le personnel de l’Unité Blanche Bourgeois du Programme Extra-mural pour les excellents soins palliatifs donnés à Bertin lui permettant de demeurer à la maison.
La famille recevra les condoléances au Salon funéraire Chartersville de Dieppe le vendredi 12 novembre 2021 de 14 h à 16 h et de 19 h à 21 h. Veuillez noter qu’il n’y aura pas de funérailles à ce moment-ci. À la demande de la famille, un don peut être fait au département de cardiologie du Centre hospitalier universitaire Georges Dumont ou à la Fédération du Saumon Atlantique.
