Camillien “Camy” J.E. Gaudet

Camillien “Camy” J.E. Gaudet, 75, of Dieppe, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 10th, 2007 at the Moncton Hospital. Born in St Joseph, he was the last surviving son of the late Uldege and the late Anita (née: LeBlanc) Gaudet.

Camy (cwo Gaudet) was a very proud member of the RCAF for 30 years during which time he was stationed in Manitoba, France, Goose Bay, Moncton, Chatham, Trenton and Winnipeg. He was proud to serve as a UN Peacekeeper in the Middle East in 1973. Mr. Gaudet later served his country when he worked at Labour Canada until his second retirement in 1993. He was a member of the Dieppe Veterans Association. Camy was an excellent athlete having recently been inducted into the Dieppe Sports Hall of Fame as a member of the Dieppe Junior Cardinals who won the 1949 Maritime Championship.

A loving father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend, Camy is mourned by his wife, Rosa (née: Gauvin); seven children: Gisele (John MacRae), Charlene (Suzanne Vaudry), Ginette (Frank) Carroll, Michael (Rhonda); Dianne (Jean-Roch) Audette, David (Suzanne), Denise (Yves Landry); two sisters: Rachel (Joseph) LeBlanc, Johanne (Gerry) Gagnon; 17 grandchildren: Genevieve, Kathryn, Ryan, Gregory, Denise, Craig, Ashley, Kevin, Andrea, Amanda, Marc, Nicole, Michelle, Jeffrey, Corey, Rachel and Joey and one great grandson, Hunter as well as by several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by five brothers: Aldoria, Rheal, Gaston, Roland and Michel.

Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, 857-1901, on Sunday, May 13th, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St.-Thérèse Roman Catholic Church, on Monday, May 14th, 2007 at 11 am. Interment in Notre-Dame du Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe, NB.
Dieppe Veterans will hold a prayer service on Sunday at 3:45 pm
