Dieppe, NB – It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Charles “Charlie” Richard on August 15, 2024. Born on August 27, 1968, in Moncton, NB, Charles was a cherished father, husband, brother, and friend.
He was predeceased by his parents, Alfred Richard, and most recently his mother, Elizabeth “Betty” Richard, who left us in January 2024. He is survived by his loving wife, Cathy, and his two daughters, Sarah (Sean) and Emily. Charles also leaves behind his siblings, Caroline (Serge), Lynn Allan (Charlene), Linda (Bruce), Luanne (Scott), brother-in-law Jeff (Isabelle), Tracy, mother of Sarah and Emily, and many nieces and nephews.
Charles was a devoted husband and father, known for his compassion, selflessness, and warm heart. He found joy in painting, watching movies, playing with his dog, and, most of all, spending time with his girls. Some of his most treasured memories include trips down south and peaceful family days at the beach.
After more than 20 years together, Charles and Cathy built a great life with love, laughter, and many memories. Through life’s ups and downs, they have remained each other’s rock, demonstrating what it means to truly share a life together.
Charles took immense pride in his daughters, Sarah and Emily, often saying, “They are my greatest achievement and what I am most proud of.” He loved sharing their photos and celebrating their successes, frequently shedding tears of pride. Among the countless cherished memories, one stands out: from their younger years and even as they grew older, whenever Sarah and Emily were sad or had a bad day, he would tickle them until they were laughing uncontrollably, only stopping when they said, “I love you, Dad.” This simple gesture made everything better and is just one of the many special memories that will be forever treasured.
In addition to his love for his family, Charles held his co-workers at ATS in high regard, considering them an extended family.
In accordance with Charles’ wishes, there will be no formal service. A private gathering will be held in his honor.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Moncton SPCA.
Charles’ memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Sincere condolences to Cathy and the family. So sad that he is gone and at such a young age. I’ll always remember the good days working together in office furniture.

I am so sorry for your loss Linda and family. It’s a rough road to travel when a love one dies so suddenly. Great love =great grief. I’ve known Charles since we were kids. I have many fond memories with him which I am truly thankful for. He was a good friend and a lot of fun to be around. My deepest sympathies goes out to the entire family.
