Charlie Palmer, 74 of Moncton passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Friday March 13th, 2015 after a lengthy battle with diabetes. Born in Newcastle NB on September 27th, 1940 he was the son of the late James Vincent and Jeanne (Meresereau) Palmer.
Prior to his retirement Charlie had worked for 28 years as an insurance agent at the PWGSC Government of Canada Pension Center in Shediac, NB.
He is survived by his wife Germaine Cormier; a son, Ian Palmer (Lorna McGrath) of Dartmouth, NS; two very special grandsons: Kyle and Chad Palmer; sisters: Barbara Palmer and Karen (Edward) Stack, both of Riverview, Evelyn McFee of Havelock and Brenda (Dave) Carson of Dartmouth, NS; aunt and dear friend, Nanette Meresereau of Edmonton AB, as well as several nieces, nephews and the Cormier family.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Moncton Hospital, Cardiac ICU and Unit 4200, along with Dr. Gordon Dow for their special care.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB (857-1901) on Saturday March 21st from 12 noon until time of service.
A memorial service will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home Chapel, Dieppe, NB, on Saturday March 21st, 2015 at 2:00 pm.
Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or a memorial would be appreciated by the family.
