Notre-Dame-de-Kent, NB – Clarence Gagnon, 69, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre, on Sunday, January 5, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in MacDougall Settlement, NB on May 23, 1944, he was the son of Alban and the late Germaine (Hébert) Gagnon (2013).
He graduated at the Université de Moncton (1969) in Commerce. Clarence completed a thirty-seven year career at that same institution in May 2011. He was a director for the maintenance and renovations for a long period of time. He was well respected by his family, friends, neighbors, community and his workplace. He was instrumental in organizing the fastball championships in Notre-Dame in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. He was also a member of District No 12 School board and the Caisse Populaire in Notre-Dame for many years.
Clarence will be sadly missed by his father, Alban (100) of Résidence Urbain-Breau in St-Antoine; his loving wife of forty-four years, Aline (Cormier) Gagnon; his two daughters, Janice Gagnon (Ricky Bourque) and Nicole Gagnon (Raoul Goguen) both of Notre-Dame; his sister, Gilberte (Normand Surette) of Shediac River; his three brothers, Éric (Léontine) of Moncton, Gérald (Roberte) of MacDougall Settlement and Roméo of Charlottetown, PEI; his two grandsons, Samuel and Maxime; also by several brothers and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
As per Clarence and his family’s request, there will be no visitations or funeral service.
Donations to the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
