Clarence Yvon Cormier, 76, of Saint-Paul-de-Kent, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton on Monday, May 19, 2025, after a long battle with cancer.
Born in Saint-Paul, NB, he was the son of the late Yvon and the late Dorice (Belliveau) Cormier.
Clarence will be sadly missed by his wife of 49 years: Alcida (Allain); his daughters: Sylvie Poirier (André) of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent and Rachelle Cormier (Nick Arbour) of Dieppe; his grandsons: Olivier and Maxime Poirier. He also leaves to mourn his sisters; Yvette Cormier, Norma Cormier (late Roger) of Dieppe, Maria Langis (Amédée) of Notre-Dame, Jeannine Martin (Basile) of Moncton, Rolande Babineau (Jacques) of Saint-Antoine, Ginette Hébert (Paul) of Richelieu, QC, Rosemonde Cormier (Gilles) of Irishtown; his brothers; Edgar (Dorine), Roland (Donalda), Yvon Jr. (Janice) all of Saint-Paul, Laurie (Lilianne) of Shediac, Delphis (Emma) of Bouctouche, Jean-Charles (Jeannita) of Saint-Antoine, Roger (Marcia) of Dieppe, Maurice (Bernice) of Sainte-Marie, Normand (Angela) of Irishtown; sister-in-law: Dorine Cormier of Moncton; and several nephews, nieces and by his in-law family.
He was predeceased by his brother, Paul-Emile (2022).
Clarence was born and raised on a farm and worked as a farmer all of his life. He was a hard worker and loved the outdoors. He also liked deer and moose hunting and taking drives on his 4-wheeler with family and friends. In the winter, he enjoyed ice fishing. He also loved spending time at the camper during summer, where he liked to put up lights and flags. He did the same at home for Acadian Day and Christmas. His personality, smile and laughter lit up the room. He was always welcoming and ready to help others. He appreciated taking drives and the trips he got to take with family or friends. He liked to watch TV, especially the Montreal Canadiens and The Price is Right. He was organized and knew where all of his tools were. He was a devoted husband, father for his two daughters and proud grandfather of his two grandsons, going to most of their hockey games. He leaves fond memories with many people.
Visitations will be held at the Saint-Paul-de-Kent RC Church Slumber Room on Friday, May 23, 2025 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 5:00pm to 6:45pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint-Paul-de-Kent RC Church on Friday, May 23, 2025 at 7:00 pm.
We, the family would like to thank Dr. Nicholas Finn (hematologist and medical oncologist), the staff at Palliative care unit at Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont and also thank you to the Extra Mural Program.
In Clarence’s memory, a donation may be made to the Saint-Paul-de-Kent Parish or to the CHU Dumont Foundation “Oncology”.
