Claude Blanchette
1952 ~ 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Claude Blanchette, 71, that occurred on Tuesday, August 8th, 2023, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre.

Born in Campbellton, he was the son of the late Eloi Blanchette and the late Louise (Lavoie) Blanchette.

Claude worked as a truck driver for JP Shellfish as well as Pier 99 until his retirement. Truck driving was his passion. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He will be remembered for his good personality, his sense of humour, his kindness, and his willingness to help others. 

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marie; his two sons: Eloi Blanchette (Amélie Durczok) of Memramcook and Roland (Sheryl Stever) of Richibucto; his daughter, Annette Blanchette (Bobby Boucher) of Salisbury; his six grandchildren: Jocelyn, Jessica, Janelle, Julie-Pier, Anika, and Jackson; as well as several nieces and nephews.

No visitation and funeral service will be held.

  11. My and everybody else at JP’s sends their condolences! We all loved Claude and he was the best! I’ll never forget how much he loved his cowboy boots I bought him on way to New York one time. He had the biggest smile on his face and he loved them!

  16. Very sorry to hear of Claude’s passing. I had the pleasure of working with him during his time with JP Shellfish. I can’t remember a time when I seen Claude that he didn’t have a smile on his face. Always so happy and upbeat. Claude I am sure your passing has broken many hearts. You will always be remembered by your extended family from Confederation Cove.
