Claude Comeau, 87, of Moncton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 15th, 2016 at the Moncton Hospital.
Born on June 15th, 1929 in Richibucto, NB, he was the son of the late Philippe and the late Mathilde Comeau.
A loyal, good husband, caring father and proud grandfather, Claude always took time to help someone out either with some advice or a working hand. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and spending his morning with friends at Deluxe on Mountain Road. Over the years, he was a member of the Club d’Age d’Or Christ-Roi and Notre-Dame de Grâce (Parkton). Claude will also be remembered for his contribution to the community as in his earlier years, he was a coach and referee for the Lewisville minor hockey, scout leader and a flagman at the go-kart races.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Rita (LeBlanc); four children: Jackie Foran (Mike), Gisèle Carter (Danny), Joanne Comeau (Jeff Steeves) and Marc (Mary-Sue); seven grandchildren: little Danny, Curtis, Nicolas, Matthew, Kelly, Nathalie and Charles; five great grandchildren: Damien, Reece, Caroline, Jake and Félix; one sister, Corinne; two brothers: Fernand (Germaine) and Louis (Simone); as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters: Bernadette and Simone and also by two brothers: Raymond and Raoul.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe (857-1901) on Friday from 9 am until time of service.
A celebration of the word will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home Chapel, on Friday, November 18th, 2016 at 11 am.
Interment in Notre-Dame du Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe.
No flowers at Claude’s request, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Outre ses parents; deux soeurs: Bernadette et Simone ainsi que deux frères: Raymond et Raoul l’ont précédé dans la tombe.
Les visites auront lieu à la Maison funéraire Chartersville, 363 rue Amirault, Dieppe (857-1901), le vendredi de 9h jusqu’à l’heure des funérailles.
Une célébration de la parole aura lieu en la chapelle de la Maison funéraire Chartersville, Dieppe, le vendredi 18 novembre 2016, à 11h.
L’inhumation se fera au cimetière Notre-Dame du Calvaire à Dieppe.
