Claude Gagnon, 90, of Dieppe, NB, passed away on Sunday, May 24th, 2015, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center, Moncton, NB.
Born in Saint-André du Madawaska, N.-B., he was the son of the late Alphonse and the late Elisabeth (née: Laforest) Gagnon.
Mr. Gagnon retired from farming in 1975, but continued working as a carpenter. He was a member of Saint-Anselme parish and for over 14 years, he was a member of the board of directors of La Caisse Populaire Saint-André du Madawaska.
He is survived by his wife, Yolande (née: Bonsant); four daughters: Murielle (Donald) Cormier of Cocagne, Monique (Mike) Freidel and Marianne Bourque, both of Dieppe and Line (Brett) Gilmore of Fredericton; two sons: Yvon (Léa) of Moncton and Maurice of Dieppe; three sisters: Gertrude Chamberlain of Hartford CT, Sr. Aline Gagnon, f.m.a. and Sr. Anita Gagnon, f.m.a., both of Campbellton; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two sisters: Sr. Lorette, f.m.a. and Noëlla and also by one brother, Edgar.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB (857-1901) on Thursday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Saint-Anselme Roman Catholic Church, Dieppe, NB, on Friday, May 29th, 2015 at 10: 30 am.
Interment in Saint-Anselme parish cemetery, Dieppe, NB.
Donations to the CHU Dumont Foundation “Palliative Care or Oncology” would be appreciated by the family.

Né à Saint-André du Madawaska, N.-B., il était fils de feu Alphonse et de feu Elisabeth (née Laforest) Gagnon.
M. Gagnon avait pris sa retraite de la ferme en1975, mais avait continué à travailler comme charpentier. Il était membre de la paroisse Saint-Anselme et, pour plus de 14 ans, il a été membre du conseil d’administration de la Caisse populaire de Saint-André-du-Madawaska.
Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse, Yolande (née Bonsant); quatre filles: Murielle (Donald) Cormier de Cocagne, Monique (Mike) Freidel et Marianne Bourque, toutes deux de Dieppe et Line (Brett) Gilmore de Fredericton; deux fils: Yvon (Léa) de Moncton et Maurice de Dieppe; trois sœurs: Gertrude Chamberlain de Hartford CT, Sr Aline Gagnon, fma et Sr Anita Gagnon, fma, toutes deux de Campbellton; 10 petits-enfants; 6 arrière petits-enfants, ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces.
Deux sœurs: Sr Lorette, fma et Noëlla, ainsi qu’un frère, Edgar l’ont précédé dans la tombe.
Les visites auront lieu à la Maison funéraire Chartersville, 363 rue Amirault, Dieppe, N.-B. (857-1901), le jeudi de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h.
La messe des funérailles aura lieu en l’église Saint-Anselme à Dieppe, N.-B., le vendredi 29 mai 2015, à 10h 30.
L’inhumation se fera au cimetière paroissial Saint-Anselme à Dieppe, N.-B.
Un don à la Fondation CHU Dumont « Soins Palliatifs ou Oncologie » serait apprécié par la famille.
