1936 ~ 2024

Moncton, NB – Claudette Fitzsimmons, 87, passed away peacefully at Villa du Repos in Moncton, on Thursday, May 23, 2024.

Born in Dover, NB, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and the late Catherine Gauvin (Nowlan).

Claudette will be sadly missed by her daughter: Nancy Murphy (late Alvin) of Cornwall, PEI; her grandchildren: Shelly Curley (Peter), Joshua Murphy (Susanne), and Katie Morriscey (Matt); as well as her great-grandchildren: Dylan, Mackenzie, Maria, and Theo; her brothers: George (late Maria) of Florida, USA, Leo-Paul of QC, Jean-Marie (Edna) of Quebec; her sister-in-law: Mary of USA; also by several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband in 2023: Donald A. Fitzsimmons; her son, Donald T. Fitzsimmons; her brother: Ronald; her sisters: Gloria Steeves (late Donald), Doris Smith.

Visitations will be held at Passage Funeral Chapel (625 Mountain Road, Moncton) on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 from 6pm to 8pm. There will be no visitation on Wednesday morning. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Saint Augustine’s Catholic Church (113 Norwood Ave, Moncton) at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of your choice.

    Kristy and I always looked forward to our visits. We always felt so welcomed by her &Don when we came to visit. Nancy & family, we are sorry for your loss.
