Oasis Residence in Dieppe (formerly of Grande-Digue), NB – Corinne Gallant, 99 years old and 11 months and a half, passed away peacefully at Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, October 5, 2017.
Born in Bouctouche, NB, she was the daughter of the late Ephrem and Eugénie (Cormier) LeBlanc.
Corinne will be sadly missed by her three daughters, Jeanne-Mance (Paul Babineau) of Grande-Digue, Bernice (Robert Breau) of Lewisville and Edna (Paul O’Brien) of Ottawa, ON; her three sons, Sylvio (Suzanne Richard), Maurice (Denise Babineau) and Denis (Claudette Babineau) all of Grande-Digue; her sister, Irène Michaud (late Gérard) of Dieppe; her two sisters-in-law, Germaine Rudd and Jeannine Gallant; her fourteen grandchildren; her seventeen great grandchildren; also by several cousins, nephews and nieces.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Edelor (1995); her three brothers, Aquila, Erice and Ronald; her four sisters, Mélina, Stella, Florine and Irène.
Corinne was a teacher for many years mostly in Grande-Digue. She was once active in the Grande-Digue and Dieppe “Club d’âge d’or”.
Visitations will be at Passage in Shediac Bridge, on Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. There will be no visitation Friday morning. Funeral service will be held at La Visitation RC Church in Grande-Digue, on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 11 am. Reception will follow at Notre-Centre in Grande-Digue.
In lieu of flowers, donations to “Fonds de Bourses de Grande-Digue”, CHU Dumont Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
