Daniel Patrick Adrien Joseph Perreault of Moncton, NB, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre, surrounded by family and love, at the age of 85.
Born in Sturgeon Falls, ON, Dan moved to Moncton in 1963 after meeting and marrying the love of his life, Claudette (Valdron), in Ottawa, Ontario. Claudette, originally from Newcastle, NB, was his devoted partner of 62 years.
Dan had a rich and varied career, starting in banking before moving on to meaningful roles with the Red Cross and Comcare, where he found his true calling in helping those in need. His work brought comfort to many, and he took great pride in making a difference.
A man of strong faith and community, Dan was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus, Chapter 1310 and he was also a beloved volunteer member of Notre Dame-de-la-Paix for more than 25 years, where he shared his warmth and spirit.
Dan had a passion for the arts, especially drawing and painting, and was an enthusiastic cook who loved experimenting with new recipes. His infectious humor and jokester personality brought joy and laughter to everyone around him.
He is survived by his cherished wife: Claudette; his children: Rick Perreault (Adriana) of Moncton, NB and Nicole Sneath (Mike) of Novato California; and his beloved niece: Monique Hussey (Andrew) of Moncton NB. He was a proud grandfather to Joran and Madison Sneath, and Zak and Sam Perreault, and a loving great-uncle to Ryan and Kayla Hussey.
Dan is also survived and predeceased by his seven siblings: (late) Aurelien “Dick” Perreault, Madelaine Godard, Carole Frazer, (late) Conrad Perreault, Roger Perreault, (late) Andrea “Maryanne” Mac Clean, (late) Linda Perreault and several dear sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Dan’s legacy of love, joy, laughter, and strength will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the warmth and joy he brought into the lives of those around him.

Condolences to Aunt Claudette, Rick, Nicole, and the rest of the family. Uncle Daniel (Pat) as he was affectionately known to us growing up will certainly be missed by all. Our visits were short and long apart over the years. But I always looked forward to them. I will miss you witty posts. Rest in peace Uncle Pat.

C’est avec tristesse que j’aprend le décès de DAN, j’ai travaillé avec Dan au Club d’Age d’Or Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix à faire des poutines. Ma mémoire de Dan est sa bonne humeur. Un vrai bon chum et plaisant à travailler avec.

I am so sorry for your loss of a special man. I enjoyed his jokes and his chats in the big room of where we all lived. I told him one day I prayed for him and he said very seriously pray twice for me will you. I did just that. He will be missed so much here and you were Blessed to have him in your family. Thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time. Dan was a great guy and will be missed by all that knew him.
To Claudette , family and loved ones. I was very saddened to hear of Dan’s passing. I worked with Dan many, many years ago. He was such a kind hearted and humble man who loved and cherished his family dearly. I was not surprised to hear that he ended up with a career with the Red Cross and Comcare as that would have fit his personality perfectly. Please accept my deepest sympathies.
