Grande-Digue, NB – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Domitien (Dom) Doucet, 84, that occurred on March 18th, 2024, at the Moncton Hospital.

Born in Rogersville, NB, he was the son of the late Albénie Doucet and the late Catherine (Martin) Doucet.

Dom had many friends and was loved by all.  He worked at Speedy Propane (Irving Propane) until retirement.  Dom loved to fish and hunt and spending time at his camp in Rogersville where he taught all his grandchildren how to fish.  He loved spending time at Maplewood Golf Course with his regular early morning group.

He will be sadly missed by his common-law partner, Marie Robichaud; his two sons : Daniel Doucet (Ginette) and Serge Doucet (Heather), both from Moncton; his two daughters : Joanne Richard (Claude) of Fredericton and Rachelle St Coeur (Donald) of Moncton; one brother, Richard Doucet (Mary) of Moncton; two sisters : Marie-Anne Léger (Raymond) of Moncton and Dorina Richard (Jean-Claude) of Montréal, QC; seven grandchildren : Benoit, Mélanie, Luc, Amy, Taylor, Chantal and Marcel; and ten great grandchildren.

Beside his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Alberte (Bert) Gaudet; three brothers : François, Antoine and Auguste; and his sister, Elodiane.

Visitation will take place from Passage Funeral Cooperative (3754 Route 134, Shediac Bridge, Tel.:  506-532-1050) on Saturday, March 23rd, 2024 from 9:00 am to 10:45 am.  Funeral service will be held at the Chapel at 11:00 am.

  7. Dear Family,
I do not have the words that should be said about how great a friend Dom was to me.
We met 49 years ago at Speedy Propane, and have worked together, and kept in touch ever since.
Dom was my mentor and keep me going forward in the compressed gas business.
He was well respected by everyone in the industry, and was always available when help or advice was need.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this time of sorrow.
Good bye “Doctor D”, you will always live on!

  9. I have many fond memories of Dom from the early days in my career at Irving Oil. Dom not only knew all things propane but had a great way with people and explaining why we do things and how to be safe. I’m sure you have the support of a close knit family that can only help in supporting each other.
