Cocagne, NB – Donald J. Melanson, 64, passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital, on Saturday, March 11, 2017, surrounded by his loving family, after a lengthy illness.

Born in Shediac, NB, he was the son of the late Arthur and the late Stella (Gallant) Melanson.

Donald is survived by his loving wife Gisèle; also by his children, Dawn (Serge) Melanson Richard and Julien both of Saint-Antoine; his three brothers, Euclide (Shirley) of Cocagne, Roger of B.C. and Emery of Saint-Antoine; his two sisters, Anne (Roger) Babineau of Shediac and Doris (Terry) Melanson LeBlanc of Cocagne; also by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased his son Jason.

Visitations will be at Passage in Shediac Bridge, on March 14, 2017 from 11 until time of funeral service. Funeral service will be held Passage Funeral Chapel on March 14, 2017 at 2 pm. A reception will follow.

Donations to the Moncton SPCA or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
