Shediac – Formerly from Ste-Anne-de-Kent,Doréa Basque, 73, passed away peacefully at the Villa Providence in Shediac, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, November 9, 2011, after a brief illness.
Born in Petit-Rocher on July 20, 1938, she was the daughter of late Joseph and Dorina (Lejeune) Pitre.
Doréa will be sadly missed by her three daughters, Jeannine Cormier (Joseph) and Thérèse Collette (Johnny) both of Bouctouche, Nicole Basque (Sandy) of Rexton; her six sons, Jean-Paul (Anne) and Robert (Juanita) both of Ste-Anne-de-Kent, Gérald (Nancy) of St-Charles, Jean-Claude (Monica) of Elsipogtog, Gilles (Rose) of St-Ignace and Denis (Linda) of St-Antoine; her brother, David Pitre (Diane) of Petit-Rocher; her thirteen grandchildren, Rachelle, Michel, René, Mélanie, Kyla, Sabrina, Gabriel, Anna, Linda, Angel, Tara, Melissa and Jérémie; her six great grandchildren, Patrick, Véronique, Trinity, Kameron, Tristan and Isabella; also several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Aurèle; by an infant child, Maurice; a sister, Jeannine; and a brother, Roger.
Visitations will be held at the Ste-Anne-de-Kent slumber room on Friday, November 11 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and on Saturday, November 12 from 9:30 am until time of the funeral. Funeral service will be at the Ste-Anne-de-Kent RC Church on Saturday, November 12, at 11am.Interment will follow at the parish cemetery.
