Born in St. Peters, PEI, she was the daughter of the late John J. and the late Margaret E. MacCormack (nee McQuillan). She was a long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 6 in Moncton.
Dorothy will be sadly missed by her daughter, Mary McCormack (Romeo) of Moncton; by her two sons, Ray (Marilyn) of Scoudouc and Ricky of Moncton; by her three sisters, Edna Girard of San Jose, California, USA, Pat Roach of Mississauga, ON and Kaye Leonard of London, On; by her brother, Reggie (Mary) of Canavoy, PEI; by her five grandchildren, Craig, Kyle, Jessica, Jordan and Keira; by her great granddaughter, Maria; also by several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Floyd; by her daughter, Kathleen Smith; by her two brothers, Jim and Billy; and by her granddaughter, Natasha Smith.
As per Dorothy’s wishes there will be no visitation at the funeral home. A private family graveside will be held at a later date.
Donations to The Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation (Oncology Department) would be appreciated by the family.
