Dorraine Ellis (née Gauvin), passed away peacefully on January 7, 2023 at the age of 75. Her life was taken too soon by Alzheimer’s. She was the daughter of the late Gerald Gauvin and the late Edith LeBlanc.
Dorraine was born on December 1, 1947 in Notre-Dame-de-Kent. She made her life in London, Ontario working as a Medical Secretary for over 20 years. She was a city girl who loved to travel, spend time with friends and just enjoyed life. She returned home in 2006 to be cared for by her family due to her failing health.
Dorraine outlived her parents and three brothers; Oscar, Gerald (Maria) and Yvon (Aldéa). She will be sadly missed by two brothers; Raymond (Marie-May) and Fernand (Eva) both of Notre-Dame and her two sisters; Simone of Saint-Antoine and Joanne of Moncton. She will also be missed by her two god-children; Michael and Michelle as well as several nieces and nephews and her dear friend Francine.
Dorraine will be resting at Maillet Funeral Home, 29 rue de l’église, Bouctouche, on Thursday January 12, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm followed by a funeral service at the funeral home at 8:00 pm. Interment will be in the Notre-Dame parish cemetery in the spring.

In memory of the life of Dorraine, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of New Brunswick or to the Manoir Saint-Jean Baptiste, Bouctouche.
