Edgar Melanson, 75, of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, passed away peacefully at the Foyer Saint-Antoine, on Tuesday April 19, 2022. He was married to Irene (Robichaud) Melanson. Born in Cocagne, he was the son of the late Edward A and Emerise (Cormier) Melanson.
Edgar was well known in the construction industry for co-founding City Drywall LTD and Commercial Drywall LTD with Paul Boucher in 1973.
Edgar was also community minded. Sponsoring local athletes and sports teams, to serving 25 years on local community boards, you would always find Edgar in conversations while supporting local events.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Irene, his sons; Daniel (Maryse), Guy (Marie-Josée) both of Moncton, his grandchildren; Hugo, Dominic, Cassandra and Josh. He also leaves to mourn his sisters; Nelida Bourque (late Roger) of Waltham, MA, Maria Robichaud (Paul) of Gardner, MA, Ida Robichaud (Valerie) of Saint-Joseph-de-Kent, Dorice Gilbert (Marcel) of Nashua, NH , his brothers; Normand (Rosé) of Ayer, MA, Edouard (Sally) of Moncton, Joe (Claire) of Florida, Donald of Fitchburg, MA and several nieces and nephews.
Visitations will be held at Maillet Funeral Home, 29 rue de l’église, Bouctouche on Monday April 25, 2022 from 7 to 9 pm and on Tuesday from 1:30 to 3:30 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held in the Saint-Jean-Baptiste Roman Catholic Church, Bouctouche, on Tuesday April 26, 2022 at 4:00 pm.
FACE MASK ARE STRONGLY RECOMMENDED AT THE FUNERAL HOME.
