Edgar Robichaud, 88, of Moncton, passed away on Friday, August 12th, 2011, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center, Moncton, NB.
Born in Moncton, NB, he was the son of the late Alban and the late Emma (née: Collette) Robichaud.
Mr. Robichaud was an avid hockey player, for many years participating in both playing and coaching, until he ultimately hung up his skates at age 82. He was a WW II army veteran before working at Canada Post, from where he retired. He was a member of the Club d’Age d’Or and the Cathédrale Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption parish.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Rita (née: LeBlanc); three sons: Gerald (Janet), Paul (Helen) and Ronald (Carmella) all three of Moncton; five grandchildren: Alisha, Denise, Paul, Glen and Robert; six great grandchildren: Austin, Kristin, Ashley, Brandon, Mary-Beth and Amy.
By request, no visitation.
Funeral mass will be celebrated from Cathédrale Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption, Moncton on Tuesday, August 16th at 11 am.
Interment in Notre-Dame du Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe, NB.

Né à Moncton, N.-B., il était le fils de feu Alban et de feu Emma (née: Collette) Robichaud.
M. Robichaud était un passionner du hockey, ayant participé comme joeur et entraîneur jusqu’ à l’age de 82 ans lorsqu’il mit ses patins à la retraite. Il était un vétéran de l’armée de la deuxième guerre mondiale avant de prendre carrière avec Poste-Canada. Il était membre du Club d’Age d’Or et de la paroisse Cathédrale Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption,
Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse de 66 ans, Rita (née: LeBlanc); trois fils: Gerald (Janet), Paul (Helen) et Ronald (Carmella), tous de Moncton; cinq petits-enfants: Alisha, Denise, Paul, Glen et Robert; six arrière petits-enfants: Austin, Kristin, Ashley, Brandon, Mary-Beth et Amy.
À la demande, aucune visite aura lieu au salon.
Les funérailles auront lieu en la Cathédrale Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption, Moncton, N.-B., le mardi 16 août 2011, à 11h.
