Edith Cormier
1943 ~ 2017

Shediac, NB (formally of Scoudouc, NB) – Edith Cormier, 74, passed away peacefully at Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre, Moncton on Friday, September 8th, 2017.

Born in Scoudouc, NB, she was the daughter of the late Alyre F. and the late Hélène Bourque (nee LeBlanc).

Edith worked at Cluthé in Kitchener, Ontario; she also worked at Lockwood in Scoudouc, BBM Call centre and retired at McDonald’s in Dieppe. She enjoyed her time clogging, line dancing, playing darts, knitting, sewing, taking lots of pictures and spending time with her grandchildren.

Edith’s family would like to express their gratitude for Edith’s excellent care during her four months battle with brain cancer. Especially to Dr. Dhany Charest, all the staff at the Moncton Hospital and the staff at Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre and the palliative care unit.

Edith will be sadly missed by her two daughters, Charline Cormier LeBlanc (Gilles) of Dieppe, and Christine Léger (Yvon) of Grande-Digue; by her four granddaughters, Amélie, Isabelle, Danika and Monika; she also leaves to mourn her four sisters, Yvonne Bourque of Scoudouc, Lucie Arsenault (Yvon) of Shediac, Cécile Thibodeau (late Martial) of Moncton and Eva Robichaud (Normand) of Moncton; by her two brothers, Alvin Bourque (Émilie) and Arsène Bourque all of Scoudouc; also by several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husband, Émerie Cormier.

Visitation will be held at Passage Funeral Co-operative, Shediac Bridge on Thursday, September 14th, 2017 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and from 7:00pm to 9:00pm and on Friday, September 15th, 2017 from 11:00am to 12:00pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Jacques-le-Majeur RC Church, 3091 Route 132, Scoudouc on Friday, September 15th, 2017 at 1:00pm with burial to follow in the parish cemetery.
