Edmond Cormier, 95, of Moncton, passed away on Wednesday, August 16th, 2006 at the Moncton City Hospital.
Mr. Cormier enjoyed life and was well known to many under the name of “Pape”. He was an avid bowler and dart player, had retired from CN after 30 years, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, # 1310, 3rd Degree, a member of Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix Club d’Age d’Or and a parishioner of Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix R.C.C.
He is survived by one daughter, Della (Joseph) Martin of Moncton; four sons: Eddie (Nora), Rod (Camilla), Jean (Linda) and Mike (Pauline) all of Moncton; he was also survived by one daughter-in-law, Bernice Vinacco of Moncton; one sister, Irène (Fidèle) Caissie of Moncton; ten grandchildren: David, Annette, Danny, Carolynn, Cathy, Nicole, Marc, Denis, Jason and Kevin; 9 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Alice in 2002; one daughter, Alma; two sisters and eight brothers.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, 857-1901, on Thursday, August 17th, 2006 from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm and also on Friday from 1 pm until time of departure. Funeral mass will be celebrated from Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix Roman Catholic Church, on Friday, August 18th, 2006 at 2 pm.
Interment in Notre-Dame-du-Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe, NB.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
