Edward Brine, 90, of Cap-Pelé, passed away on Wednesday June 3rd, 2009 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital after a long battle with cancer.
Born in Cap-Pelé, NB, he was the son of the late John William and the late Marie (née: LeBlanc) Brine.
Mr. Brine had retired from MacDonald Paving. He was an avid dancer and dart player, he enjoyed nature, especially his garden and also crosswords puzzles. He was a member of the Club d’Age d’Or and a parishioner of Ste-Thérèse-d’Avila Roman Catholic Church.
He is survived by his second wife, Marguerite Niles-Landry; two sons: Charles (Marcia) Brine of Dieppe and Victor (Cheryl) Brine of Porters Lake, NS; two step daughters: Ginette Landry of Memramcook and Leonette (Bobby) Vautour of Bas Cap-Pelé; four step sons: Bernard (Lucille) Landry of Memramcook, Eric (Anna) Landry of Toronto, ON, Benoit (Yvonne) Landry and Léo (Pauline) Noël, both of Moncton; one sister, Almira McCarthy of Moncton; 3 grandchildren; 10 step grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Velma Surette in 1978; seven sisters: Alma, Laura, Marceline, Loraine, Yvonne, Leontine and Sr. Louisa ndsc; four brothers: Albert, Henry, Yvon and Joe and also by one step granddaughter, Isabel.
Visitation will be held from the Ste-Thérèse-d’Avila Church Funeral Salon, Cap-Pelé, NB on Monday from 2 to 4 pm and from 6 pm until time of funeral.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at Ste-Thérèse-d’Avila Roman Catholic Church, Cap-Pelé, NB on Monday, June 8th, 2009 at 7 pm.
Interment in Parish Cemetery.
Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Church Fund would be appreciated by the family.

Né à Cap-Pelé, N.-B., il était fils de feu John William et de feu Marie (née: LeBlanc) Brine.
M. Brine était retraité de MacDonald Paving. Il aimait faire la danse et le jeu de fléchettes, il avait aussi une passion pour la nature, son jardins et les jeux de mots-croisées. Il était membre du Club d’Age d’Or et de la paroisse Ste-Thérèse-d’Avila.
Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse, Marguerite Niles-Landry; deux fils: Charles (Marcia) Brine de Dieppe et Victor (Cheryl) Brine de Porters Lake, N.-E.; deux belles-filles: Ginette Landry de Memramcook et Leonette (Bobby) Vautour de Bas Cap-Pelé; quatre beaux-fils: Bernard (Lucille) Landry de Memramcook, Eric (Anna) Landry de Toronto, ON, Benoit (Yvonne) Landry et Léo (Pauline) Noël, tous deux de Moncton; une soeur, Almira McCarthy de Moncton; 3 petits-enfants; 10 beaux petits-enfants; 3 beaux arrière petits-enfants ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces.
Sa 1ière épouse, Velma Surette en 1978; sept soeurs: Alma, Laura, Marceline, Loraine, Yvonne, Leontine et Sr Louisa ndsc; quatre frères: Albert, Henry, Yvon et Joe ainsi qu’une belle petite-fille, Isabel l’ont précédé dans la tombe.
Les visites auront lieu au salon funéraire de l’église Ste-Thérèse d’Avila, Cap-Pelé, N.-B. le lundi de 14h à 16h et de 18h jusqu’a l’heure des funérailles.

L’inhumation au cimetière paroissial.
Un don à la Fondation Canadienne du Cancer ou à la paroisse serait apprecié par la famille.
