EDWARD CORMIER

Edward Cormier, 85, of Villa du Repos, Moncton and formerly of Dieppe, passed away on Monday, November 27th, 2017 at his residence.

Born in Scoudouc, NB, he was the son of the late Willie and the late Francoise (née: Landry) Cormier.

Prior to retirement, Edward worked as a mechanical engineer with Sony Record. He enjoyed woodworking, bowling and travelling. He was a member of the Club d’Age d’Or and Saint-Anselme parish.

He is survived by his wife, Therese (née: Melanson); one daughter, Janet (late Chuck) Salo of Peterborough, ON; two sons: Paul (Linda) of Oshawa, ON and Robert (Mona) of Etobicoke, ON; one step-daughter, Rose Melanson-Ayles (Chester Douthwright) of Pine Glen, NB; one sister, Doris (late Lenny) Landry of Malden, Mass; eight grandchildren: Shawn, Terri-Lynn, David, Alison, Amanda, Melissa, Jason and Christopher; four great grandchildren: Jazmin, William, Hannah and Riley; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents; he was predeceased by his 1st wife, Stella (née: Melanson); six sisters: Oliva, Yvonne, Rita, Dorilla, Aldina and Bernadette and also by three brothers: Leo, Armand and Francis.

Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, (857-1901) on Friday from 7 to 9 pm and also on Saturday from 9 am until time of service.

A Celebration of the Word will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, December 2nd, 2017 at 11 am.

Interment in Saint-Anselme Parish Cemetery, Dieppe.

Donations to the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

À sa résidence, le lundi 27 novembre 2017, à l’âge de 85 ans, est décédé Edward Cormier. Il demeurait à la Villa du Repos, Moncton et autrefois de Dieppe.

Né à Scoudouc, N.-B., il était fils de feu Willie et de feu Francoise (née Landry) Cormier.

Avant sa retraite, Edward travaillait comme ingénieur mécanique pour Sony Record. Il aimait travailler le bois, jouer aux quilles et de voyager. Il était membre du Club d’Age d’Or et de la paroisse Saint-Anselme.

Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse, Therese (née Melanson); une fille, Janet (feu Chuck) Salo de Peterborough, ON; deux fils: Paul (Linda) d’Oshawa, ON et Robert (Mona) d’Etobicoke, ON; une belle-fille, Rose Melanson-Ayles (Chester Douthwright) de Pine Glen, N.-B.; une soeur, Doris (feu Lenny) Landry de Malden, Mass; huit petits-enfants: Shawn, Terri-Lynn, David, Alison, Amanda, Melissa, Jason et Christopher; quatres arrière petits-enfants: Jazmin, William, Hannah et Riley; ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces.

Outre ses parents; sa première épouse, Stella (née Melanson); six soeurs: Oliva, Yvonne, Rita, Dorilla, Aldina et Bernadette ainsi que trois frères: Leo, Armand et Francis l’ont précédé dans la tombe.

Les visites auront lieu à la Maison funéraire Chartersville, 363 rue Amirault, Dieppe (857-1901) le vendredi de 19h à 21h ainsi que le samedi de 9h jusqu’à l’heure des funérailles.
Une célébration de la parole aura lieu en la chapelle de la Maison funéraire Chartersville, le samedi 2 décembre 2017 à 11h.

L’inhumation au cimetière paroissial Saint-Anselme, Dieppe.

Un don à la Fondation du Rein serait apprécié par la famille.
