Grande-Digue, NB – Emerie Gallant, 84, passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, January 28th, 2020, after a brief illness.
Born in Grande-Digue, he was the son of the late Jacob and the late Euphémie Gallant (born Landry).
Emerie was a fisherman until his retirement, a job and a passion he loved very much. He was a Knights of Columbus, 3rd degree, Council #7535 and was also a member of the “Club d’âge d’or” of Grande-Digue.
Emerie will be sadly missed by his wife, Bernice Gallant; his two daughters, Janice Gallant of Montreal, QC and Lise Gallant (Paul Chatelain) of Ottawa, ON; his two brothers, Tilmon (Late Lorraine) and Gérald (Alouisa) both of Grande-Digue; his two sisters, Maria DeVarennes (Normand) of Grande-Digue and Irène Gould (late Olivier) of Memramcook; his two sisters-in-law, Aline Gallant and Esther Gallant both of Grande-Digue; also by several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Aurèle and Auguste; one sister, Géraldine (Marc Arsenault) and one infant sister, Géraldine.
Visitation will be held at Passage in Shediac Bridge, on Sunday, February 2, 2020, from 2pm to 4 pm and from 7pm to 9 pm. There will be no visitation on Monday. Funeral service will be held at La Visitation RC Church in Grande-Digue, on Monday, February 3, 2020 at 2 pm.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Crohn’s and Colitis of Canada or to a charity of your choice.
