In Loving Memory Of
Emery Boudreau
1941-2026

Dixon Point, NB- It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Emery Boudreau, 85, that occurred on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2026, at Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton, NB.

Born in Bouctouche, he was the son of the late Donat Boudreau and the late Germaine (Maillet) Boudreau.

Emery was an amateur and professional boxer in his teenage years and into his early twenties. He became the Maritime Middleweight Champion and later fought for the Canadian Light Heavyweight Championship.

In 1977, he was one of the people who helped establish the amateur boxing club in his hometown of Bouctouche. He went on to coach there, sharing his knowledge and experience with young boxers in his community. He also had the honor of coaching a provincial team that went on to compete at the national amateur boxing championships.

His boxing accomplishment was recognized in 2017 when he was inducted into the Bouctouche Sport Hall of Fame. He was incredibly proud of this, and the evening was one of his most memorable nights.

Emery grew up in a fishing family and, like many people of his generation, moved to the Boston, Massachusetts, area in his early twenties to work in residential construction as a carpenter. In his mid-thirties, he decided to return to his hometown, where he owned and operated Eastwood Construction Ltd., a residential home construction company, for the next 30 years. His work was known for its high quality, and he never cut corners.

In retirement, he enjoyed gardening, some hunting, doing small jobs around the house and for others, and travelling to visit his children and with his children.

Emery was a gentle and soft-spoken man who was calm, kind, and hardworking. He was deeply devoted to his work and a true perfectionist, always striving to do his best and taking great pride in everything he accomplished. He was known for his honesty, integrity, and strong sense of responsibility.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Marie (Cormier) Boudreau; his sons: Ronnie Boudreau (Marie-Josée) of Dieppe and Roger Boudreau of Ottawa; his daughters: Patty-Ann Boudreau of Montreal and Gisèle Boyle (Todd) of Niceville, FL; his brother, Raymond Boudreau (Louise) of Dixon Point; his sisters: Claira Poirier (Yvon) of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, Rose-Marie Richard (Francis) of Shediac, Evangeline Gallant (Bernard) of Shediac Bridge and Louise Michaud (Joseph) of Bouctouche; his grandchildren: Yannick, Annabelle, Danielle and Brennan; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sister, Jeannita (2017); as well as his brothers: Joseph (2018) and Paul (2012).

In Emery’s memory you can donate to the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre.

Visitation will take place at Passage~Maillet (29 l’Eglise Street, Bouctouche) on Wednesday, September 30th, 2026, from 1pm to 4pm, followed by the funeral service at St. Jean Baptiste Catholic Church at 4pm.

I was referred to Emery for taking on the construction of our home in 1985, for which I still reside today. I have received over the years many complements on the quality, professionalism, and remain thankful to Emery for his dedication to details in executing his trade.
I wish Mary, Ron and Roger, for which we met during our construction, my best wishes during these difficult times.
