Peacefully with family by his side, Emery Savoie, 77, of Moncton, NB, lost his long battle with cancer on Saturday, March 14th 2009.
Born on March 14, 1932 in Saint-Maurice de Kent, NB, he was the son of the late Dosithé and the late Hélène (née: Poirier) Savoie.
Mr. Savoie had retired from the Moncton Hospital with 35 years of service. He was a member of the Knight of Columbus, Council # 1310.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Viola (née: Cormier); two daughters: Charline (Danny) Roy of Grande-Digue and Denise Savoie (Darren Law) of Innisfail, AB; five grandchildren: Luc, Justin, Jolyne, Sterling and Colton; one sister, Andréa (Maurice) Daigle of Moncton; two brothers: Léandre (Marie) Savoie of Shediac and Hector (Gloria) Savoie of Moncton as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one son, Daniel; three sisters: Dorilda, Rosanna and Emma and also by four brothers: Gérard, Alvin, Lionel and Ovila.
Respecting Emery’s wishes, there will be no visitation at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be celebrated from the Chartersville Funeral Home Chapel, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB (857-1901) on Saturday, March 21st 2009 at 10 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.

Entouré de sa famille, le samedi 14 mars 2009, à l’âge de 77 ans, est décédé Emery Savoie après une longue bataille avec le cancer.
Né le 14 mars, 1932 à Saint-Maurice de Kent, N.-B., il était fils de feu Dosithé et de feu Hélène (née: Poirier) Savoie.
Avant sa retraite, M. Savoie avait travaillé pour plus de 35 années à l’Hôpital de Moncton. Il était membre des Chevaliers de Colombs (# 1310).
Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse de 49 ans, Viola (née: Cormier); deux filles: Charline (Danny) Roy de Grande-Digue et Denise Savoie (Darren Law) de Innisfail, AB; cinq petits-enfants: Luc, Justin, Jolyne, Sterling et Colton; une soeur, Andréa (Maurice) Daigle de Moncton; deux frères: Léandre (Marie) Savoie de Shediac et Hector (Gloria) Savoie de Moncton ainsi que plusieurs neveux et nièces.
Outre ses parents, un fils, Daniel; trois soeurs: Dorilda, Rosanna et Emma ainsi que quatre frères: Gérard, Alvin, Lionel et Ovila.
À sa demande, aucune visite au salon.
Les funérailles auront lieu à la chapelle de la Maison funéraire Chartersville, 363 rue Amirault, Dieppe, N.-B., le samedi 21 mars, 2009 à 10h.
Une réception suivra.
