Cap-Pelé – Emma Melanson, 89, passed away peacefully at the Villa Providence in Shediac, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, after a lengthy illness.
Born in St-André-LeBlanc on December 23, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Edmond and Kathleen (Cullen) Dupuis.
She was a retired teacher and past president of ladies’ auxiliary of Cap-Pelé.
Emma will be sadly missed by her two sons, Gay of Salisbury and Marc (Brenda) of St-André-LeBlanc; her two daughters, Joanne of Montreal, QC and Jacqueline of Dieppe; her five sisters, Dora Duchesneau (late Dutchie) of Leominster, Mass., Doris Swatman (George) of Belleville, ON, Louise Jones (Bob) of Laughlin, Nevada, Julie Lyons (Jack) of Mississauga, ON, Genevas Dupuis of Toronto, ON; her three grandchildren; Justin, Alicia and Daniel; her two great grandchildren; Gabryelle and Luka; also by several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Adrien; her infant daughter, Rose-Marie; her two sisters, Bertha Niles and Eilleen Lacroix; her two brothers, Sifroid Dupuis and Edmond Dupuis.
Visitations will be held at the Ste-Thérère d’Avila RC Church slumber room in Cap-Pelé, on Sunday, July 15, 2012 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and on Monday, July 16, 2012 from 9 to 10 am, followed by the funeral service at 10:30 am.
